The research library with network connections, study carrels, shelving, reference desk, and dedicated space for viewing rare books occupies approximately 5,800 sq. ft. within this 68,000 sq. ft. museum.
Features of the Eastman Research Library are climate-controlled vaults for both the main collection and rare books (with separate controls for each), a reading room with natural light that includes UV filtering over the volumes in the rare book stacks.
Both fixed and compact shelving is installed to accommodate approximately 44,000 volumes.
