HYAM PLUTZIK LIBRARY FOR CONTEMPORARY WRITING AND POETRY

A complete gut and renovation of existing space within the rare book collection area of the library resulted in this completely new space, approximately 2,000 sq. ft. in size.

Completed in 2000 by the University Partners Group, a subsidiary of DeWolff Partnership Architects, this unique library features glass walls separating reading rooms, new natural-wood shelving, and both floor-to-ceiling and free standing exhibit spaces.
The state-of-the-art security system includes closed circuit television monitoring.  Reference desk area is highlighted through modern accent lighting and the liberal use of natural light through floor-to-ceiling (20 ft.) windows opening onto a courtyard space.
