HUDSON RIVER VALLEY CARE CENTER
(f.k.a. Northeast Center for Special Care)
The Hudson River Valley Care Center, conceived in 1994 by Healthcare Associates, is a 280-bed facility designed to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation center for traumatically brain injured patients. Formerly an IBM Training and Educational facility, the two-story 208,000 s/f converted building sits on 39.26 acres amidst single and multi-family homes.
The facility is arranged into nine uniquely designed nursing units. Each unit is comprised of a nurses station that is optimally located for monitoring corridors, ease of service, and convenient lounges visible from the nurses stations. The most prominent plan feature, the green house courtyards, have skylights and are conditioned for year-round use and provide a unique opportunity for residents and attract community involvement.
