ST. JOHN’S HOME
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK
The Master Plan DeWolff Partnership prepared for the St. John’s Home provided the implementation of both the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of a new Residential Health Care Facility. The main aesthetic criteria of this facility was to maintain a residential quality without sacrificing the functional aspects a skilled nursing facility requires. Residential nursing units are designed in smaller groupings of suites creating “neighborhoods.” Each grouping contains the appropriate decentralized support needed, and social gathering areas to stimulate the interaction of residents.
The new 120 Bed addition includes 4 new beds, 116 replacement beds, and 30 client Adult Day Health Care and new Conference Center. The 1975 HRFs Building conversion includes: a 20 Bed Rehab unit, a 25 Bed Comfort Care, and four 25 Bed Special Care Units totaling 145 Beds. There is also a Hospice Unit and four 25 Bed Mental Health Units. Upon implementation of the Master Plan, the new St. John’s Home will have 555 skilled nursing care beds.
